Abraham Charles
Wrestling Coach/MMA coach/BJJ coach– Quintella MMA

My name is Abraham Charles, 28, I am a decorated wrestler and professional mixed martial artist who brings years of competitive experience and technical expertise to Quintella MMA. A four-year varsity starter at Penn Wood High School, earned 2x All-Delco honors, became a 2x regional qualifier, and a PIAA state qualifier, while also achieving membership in the prestigious PIAA 100 Win Club.

Following my wrestling career, I transitioned into combat sports, training extensively in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai for the past 6 years. I hold a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu, I am a 2x NAGA champion, and compiled a 4-0 amateur MMA record, capturing the Art of War Amateur Lightweight Championship. Today, I compete as both a professional MMA fighter with a 2-0 record and an active professional Muay Thai fighter, earning his Red Tip Blue Light Kruang under Professor Alexandre Quintella.

As a wrestling coach at Quintella MMA, I try to combine myhigh-level wrestling background with my striking and grappling expertise to help athletes develop a well-rounded skill set. In addition to coaching wrestling, I regularly assists in leading the MMA program, working with fighters of all levels. My coaching emphasizes discipline, technique, and a competitive mindset, preparing both beginners and advanced athletes for success on and off the mat.

My name is Ernest Cronin and I run the no-gi program. I earned my black belt in August of 2022 under Master Quintella. I began training in jiu-jitsu at the age of 28. Prior to this, I had no martial arts or sports experience. I lived a very unhealthy life-style. Jiu-jitsu fundamentally changed my life and I believe it can improve the lives of everyone.

I entered the competition circuit early in my career and I have never stopped competing. I have earned many gold medals and championship belts over the years. I think it is important that students have a coach who still actively competes regardless of age and outcome.

I began coaching in 2016. I have assisted many students in securing victories in both jiu-jitsu and MMA. I decided a long time ago that I may have begun training too late in life to become a world champion; however, with both rigorous study and application, I can develop the necessary skills to forge a champion in a student.

My name is Matt DiIorio. I am 25 and a purple belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu under Alexandre Quintella. I have been training and competing in jiu jitsu for about 5 years. And for about 3 years I have been teaching and coaching the kids program and competition team with Sensei Alex.

In 2019 when I was 20 I began jiu jitsu at Quintella. I met so many friendly people that were different ages, sizes, and backgrounds. And everyone had different reasons for starting. Everyone pushes everyone to become better. As long as you keep learning and practicing, anyone can do jiu jitsu. And everyone is welcome at Quintella.

When I began to compete in tournaments, I had many wins and just as many losses. But this is when I learned the most about myself. I became more engaged with my body and mind. It made me change the way I eat and exercise. It made me change how I approach challenges or losses off the mat. It made me a stronger person physically and mentally. As I learned more and got better, I was asked to help with the kids classes.

Just like the adults, all the kids are different in every way. Some of them compete as well and are very skilled. But my favorite part is they all learn the same skills and discipline together. They learn how to fight, how to defend, how to win, and how to lose. And how to never give up. We teach them how to be respectful, confident, and helpful young adults. We give them a super power and teach them how to use it the right way.

Come learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai at Quintella MMA.

Octavius Slaughter
I am an amateur Muay Thai competitor and a proud member of Quintella MMA, where I have been training and competing for the past five years. From the very beginning of my journey, I have tried to demonstrate exceptional drive and determination. In my first year of training, I captured the WKA National Championship title, an accomplishment that marked the start of my promising competitive career.

Since that time, I have continued to build upon my early success, earning multiple national titles, including two Freedom Promotion National Championships. With a current record of 15 wins and 3 losses, I have established myself as a formidable competitor, consistently trying to improve on my skill, resilience, and dedication against high-level opponents.

I am known for my technical precision, mental toughness, and relentless work ethic, I have become a respected athlete within the Muay Thai community. My achievements are a direct reflection of my commitment to the art my coaches and teammates at Quintella MMA and the rigorous training it requires. Beyond my record in the ring, I try to have a higher standard of professionalism, sportsmanship, and this is the example I try to set  for newer students at Quintella.

Looking ahead, I remain focused on sharpening my craft, competing at the highest levels available to me, and continuing to inspire others through my dedication and success in Muay Thai.

I enjoy exposing people of all backgrounds to the sport that changed my life.

I continue to learn and grow as a fighter/instructor and I love to pass my knowledge on to beginners in the sport. My specialty is teaching fun and engaging intro classes and helping new practitioners develop a solid foundation from which to grow. I am an instructor of Muay Thai as well as a coach and cornerman for the Muay Thai fighters at Quintella.
